Friends of the Trail
We gratefully accept donations of any amount for the ongoing maintenance of the Trail. For a donation of $100 or more, your name, community and year of the donation will be engraved on a tag and placed on an original NWMP Trail marker post!
This trail was marked in the 1950s by Everett Baker, the SHFS’ first president, and local community members.
The Swift Current - Battleford Trail was once an important travel and trade route.
Now completed, the Historic Trail walks were held every two years from 2015 to 2023. Historic Trail Walks were long-form walks that occurred along the routes of historic trails.
The Historic Trail walks have evolved into historic “hub” gatherings, with the same emphasis on history, landscape, and connection.
