COVID-19 Culture: A Living Heritage Project of the Pandemic in Saskatchewan

A Special Edition of Folklore Magazine

In December 2020, as a partnership with Heritage Saskatchewan, we published COVID-19 Culture: A Living Heritage Project of the Pandemic in Saskatchewan—a special edition of Folklore Magazine.

In this publication, we documented the experiences of people throughout our province during the COVID-19 pandemic through the lens of living heritage. How have culture and heritage helped people interpret, cope, and look beyond the crisis? In what ways has life changed, or stayed the same? We have worked with six community coordinators to collect experiences from our communities.

All interviews have also been donated to the Provincial Archives of Saskatchewan where they are publicly accessible for posterity to provide a record of this historic event.
